Oracle renews Technical Partnership with HMS Software
Montreal – May 20, 2015 – HMS Software, publishers of TimeControl, one of the world's most popular timesheet systems announced today that Oracle has certified HMS as one of its Gold Partners for the upcoming year.
“Our partnership with Oracle has many different aspects,” explains Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “The partnership started from two completely separate points back in 1997 when HMS became part of the Primavera Partner program thanks to TimeControl’s links to Primavera’s project management software as well as the Oracle solution partner program due to our support of Oracle database technology. When Oracle purchased Primavera many years later, these two initiatives became part of a much richer relationship.”
The TimeControl timesheet system now also supports the MySQL database as well as links between TimeControl and Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. Oracle and HMS teams regularly work together to support their mutual clients.
The Oracle Partner program is designed to allow software publishers such as HMS to work directly with Oracle to more effectively bring products and services to each other's clients. This enables both HMS and Oracle to offer clients a combination of functionality, architecture and subject matter expertise that delivers richer, more functional, and more secure solutions. HMS has been an Oracle Gold Partner for several years ensures that TimeControl clients enjoy the functionality and expertise of HMS and Oracle working together.
"Being a Gold Partner in the Oracle Partner Network carries big benefits to TimeControl clients who are leveraging Oracle technology," explains Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software's Director of Technical Services. "Our integration with Oracle-Primavera P6, for example, can be tested on pre-release versions and we can ensure that future releases of TimeControl continue to deliver value-added functionality to P6 users."
The link between the TimeControl timesheet system and Oracle-Primavera allows clients to move their data bi-directionally between the two systems completely in the background and provide financial quality timesheet and costing data to both Primavera for task updating and Finance modules of the organization such as payroll, HR, job costing and invoicing. Using TimeControl with Primavera means that clients can use a single timesheet entry for multiple purposes.
HMS Software's TimeControl is one of the longest standing third party integrations with Primavera and dates back to 1997 when TimeControl became the first external product of any kind to publish a link to P3e. TimeControl supports links with Oracle Primavera P3 through the current P6.
The configurable link between TimeControl and Oracle Primavera allows for project, task, resource, and assignment information to be moved from the project management system and actual hours, costs, task progress and even steps to move from TimeControl back to Oracle Primavera.
Some of TimeControl's value-added benefits when linking with Oracle Primavera include: multiple rates per employee, automated business rule validations, automated workflow, missing timesheet notification, simultaneous support for multiple versions of Oracle Primavera, both a browser and mobile/tablet interface and matrix timesheet approvals with HMS's unique Matrix Approval Process for Labor Actuals™. This process allows project managers to be able to approve hours task-by-task and departmental supervisors to approve hours and costs with an unlimited number of approval levels.
TimeControl's Industrial version also includes crew timesheets and field-data-collection capabilities to update Primavera and Finance with material consumption, equipment usage and even production accomplished information.
"The relationship between HMS Software and Oracle is one that is very important to both us and our clients," says Vandersluis. “We are very proud to be an Oracle Gold Partner once again this year and look forward to many more years of our close partnership."
