HMS Software and OPAL-RT Technologies collaborate on exciting TimeControl Case Study
Montreal, January 19, 2022 – Founded in 1997 on a mission of creating real-time simulators for engineers, OPAL-RT Technologies has been remarkably successful. Their clients span multiple industries including aerospace, power, utilities and automotive. Now, OPAL-RT has collaborated with one of their long-time suppliers on a Case Study of their use of TimeControl and how it has become part of their core support systems.
OPAL-RT and HMS worked originally in 2002 to implement TimeControl in an on-premise deployment where TimeControl was able to integrate with project management systems and with the internal Finance system to help not only with project tracking but also with R&D tax credits and job costing reports.
“After two decades of continuous use,” says Irene Peres, OPAL-RT Director, Metric and Quality Department. “TimeControl has become an integral part of OPAL-RT’s enterprise system. It’s hard to imagine working without it.”
The story is a testament to two companies partnering together to solve business problems. Over the last 20 years both HMS and OPAL-RT have evolved. When OPAL-RT decided to change ERP systems, the flexibility of TimeControl allowed them to keep the project-oriented time tracking and integrate it with the new system. When HMS had TimeControl be available both as an on-premise product and in the Cloud as a Software as a Service, OPAL-RT took advantage and shifted to the TimeControl Online cloud subscription.
“This case study touches everyone at HMS Software,” explains Chris Vandersluis, HMS Software's President. “OPAL-RT has been a client for so long we feel that our team and theirs are intertwined. We're very proud of this story and we can't thank OPAL-RT and their team enough for it.”
